Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Has anyone gotten Android 16 on this phone yet? I just got mine and did all the updates, got to December 1st security patch but still Android 15.
Nope. Mine didn't even get the Dec security update until a few days ago.
Motorola is notorious for slow updates.

Once unlocked are these straight talk phones compatible with all other providers? Or are they crippled somehow in the frequencies? Thx

Has the 5G frequencies works fine on T-Mobile and Verizon. But AT&T uses whitelist for devices most likely won't pass AT&T IMEI check till later.

My Straight Talk Moto G Power 5G 2024 passed IMEI check for AT&T around June 2025 year after release.

These phones work on Visible out of the box with Visible physical sim card.

They are compatible with almost all of the providers. Phones today are made all a wide range of frequency bands, even oversea bands.

Last year i got the Boost Mobile deal 512GB Edge+ 2023 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for $60 after 30 day money back guarantee on $60 service plan. Best Emulator Phone for the price and storage.

Oh jeez, I missed that. That would have been a much better processor.

Would anyone happen to know if this straight talk version of this phone is missing any tmobile 5G bands?

I am thinking about using it on tmobile after unlock.

People are going to be really upset if it gets switched back to 12 months with no warning. I'm waiting on 3 that need another few weeks to unlock so it better not be retroactive again.
I know it says already activated are OK but I don't trust Verizon after what they pulled last April.

U waiting on any to unlock? I can always use the Motos on TF if they refuse to unlock or sell the iPhone 12 (which was only $10 due to the website error!). I feel sorry for those new buyers that just placed orders or haven't activated yet.

Nope i got enough phones unlocked last year from the boost and total wireless deals. I just bought 2-3 each and kept 1 free.
