Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Did you activate yours prior to 12:00 AM Eastern Time of Jan. 13th?

According to Ars Technica:
The terms of this waiver apply to all handsets that become active on Verizon's network beginning the day after the release date of this Order," the FCC ruling said.
No, I think I activated my phone via the Straight Talk website around 12:15 AM.

After receiving my phone today, I discovered it works perfectly with Visible, eliminating the need to unlock it and saving me a second month's plan fee. I'm so happy with it that I bought a second one for $30. $75 for two 2025 Stylus phones is a steal in my opinion. The OLED screen is very nice and the performance is good, with no lag.

BTW, I got charged another $6ish in tax/fee for the plan when I ordered mine today. Not sure why since it is prepaid. Do you also got charged with that fees as well?
Taxes and fees were $3.84 on my first order and $2.77 on the second.

Interesting, I wonder if it would work with US Mobile's Verizon network?

You have to pay for 2 months of service, no?
So, the total would not really be $75 but $75+$70 = $145

Or am I missing something?

You might not need to unlock the phone if using a Verizon MVNO, but there's no guarantee it will work with your specific carrier. I know Visible works.

FYI about unlocked policy: FCC just changed unlocked policy for Verizon recently and the new rule is 1 year. Yes, no bs at all. No more 60 days.

I dont believe that. I've had phone since Mar or Apr 2025 that i only paid 1 month and it is still locked. I bought it shortly before they started that 60 day activation requirement. Now they are demanding I buy a second 30 day plan. Phone just sitting in drawer
Bought mine in Feb, activated in Mar and got caught up by the retroactive April policy change. Had to purchase a second month (bronze plan) and then it unlocked.

I got in on the last deal with a tablet. These are not bad little phones for the price. I did end up selling both and they covered the cost and kept the tablet. The tablet isn't the best but I will say the phones worked pretty good after removing all the bloat

I just bought 2 for $81 total with 15% cash back from chase ink business card. I hope they still offer unlock after 60 days, but I doubt it because the new rule just came out from FCC. Any way $35 a piece is not bad at all regardless of lock or unlock.

FCC just released the new rule a couple days ago. The new rule is Verizon is no longer forced to unlock any handset after 60 days of service. That is bad news for consumers. So buying 2 months of service is no longer guaranteed for straight talk to unlock your phone.

What is the best way to remove bloatware?
