Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Layer on cash back (can't name per SD) or the next round of Chase 15% back credit card coupons for more savings on top.In order for this to ship without cancellation, you probably will need to do a new account/info if you already have 1-2 of this specific phone from Straight Talk.
Thanks

Now they're on par with AT&T and T-Mobile. They cut a deal is the only reason they got by with the 2 month unlock according to articles I've read.
They agreed to it to get approval for lucrative 700MHz spectrum, then again 5 years ago when they bought Tracfone.

AT&T unlocks after 6 months, T-Mobile unlocks after $100 in refills. We'll see if Verizon will make theirs 1 year - would go from one of the better ones to one of the worst so they may not pull that trigger.

You have to pay for 2 months of service, no?
So, the total would not really be $75 but $75+$70 = $145

Or am I missing something?
That's how the telcos play the game. Market the phones as free/cheap, then locks you in to higher cost service to pay for it. Ridiculous that's allowed by the FCC/FTC.

Anyone else's order just sitting at pending?
If you're bought Stylus before or too many Straight Talk phones they sometimes cancel orders.

So the consensus is to hold off buying these since VZ can change the unlock requirements on April 1 and require more service time to unlock? Or to buy and activate ASAP to make the 60 days before April 1 hits?
They haven't changed their official policy yet. You can gamble and see if you can get it activated under the old policy before they change it but YMMV.

My order keeps getting cancelled. I placed 2 different orders with different email and both got cancelled. I am buying from ST for the first time. Someone facing similar issues?
Do you have other Tracfone, total wireless, QVC orders/phones?

For people who ordered this recently, how long does it take to ship? I ordered for more than a day, and it still shows "pending remote fulfillment". Also, I had to use the order status link in the original order email to see the status, and if I click on details for the order in my account page, it will give me an error.

I think you can activate right when it ships. If the policy has changed beforehand just refuse delivery.

Thanks for the info. I bought 2 of these phones (2023 version) a few years ago from MetroPCS and they were locked for I believe 6 months. They screwed up my order and I ended up getting both of them for free. I'm using one for my primary line on Verizon prepaid & one as a second line on US Mobile (Verizon). US Mobile has a better signal with 5G UW. I did order one from this deal 2 days ago. My order from Total Wireless never shipped so I'm not too hopeful for this one.

They can't apply a new unlock policy on an already activated device.

Get this deal if you need a device as soon there will be no devices that unlocks in less than 6 months.

Metro for example didn't inforce the 1 year unlock policy on devices that were sold before the policy update.

After activation:
Will the same Straight Talk SIM work in an unlocked 5G iPhone?
Will the same SIM work on another Tracfone locked smart phone?
Will the another Tracfone SIM work on the Moto Stylus 5G phone ?

Is USMobile on the locked phone working? That is what I am using and bought this phone for.

The phone I have on US Mobile Warp is unlocked. Both of the Metro phones unlocked after 6 months. Someone above said this phone works for Visible but not sure about US Mobile. Are you using the Warp network? If you get the phone and try it, please report back.

.
Verizon did just that on their April unlock policy change with my March-activated phone from ST.

* correction: I bought it Jan and activated in Feb. First month expired in March. (3/15) Waited a month more for it to unlock. Finally, bought a Bronze plan (4/18) before it unlocked (5/21).
