Would these unlock automatically if bought with 60 days plan and sent outside the US before 60 days complete?

Need to move an older relative's landline number (ATT) to a cellphone. Unsure of the steps necessary to get this accomplished, but wanted to ask if y'all think Straightalk would be a better company to do this with (eg, less hassle, smoother transition) than say, Tracfone, Verizon, etc. If too OT, please PM. Thanks so much!!

YOUR DMs HAVE REACHED THE LIMIT.

Use number barn 'park your number' as an in between. Once they process the difficult part of moving the landline number then it'll be straightforward getting to your carrier of choice.

Yes. It'd need to be connected to wifi though.

After dealing with chat and a few calls to Straight Talk customer service to try to find out why my Stylus hadn't shipped for a week (it FINALLY did) I wouldn't willing use their service if they paid me. 60 days to unlock the phone and I'm gone. I thought Red Pocket CS was bad but Straight Talk took it to another level.

Actually, you only have to pay for one month. Let it sit unused for the second month and it unlocks. It's 60 days from initial activation. Then call (888)442-5102. That is the national unlock checker phone# to verify. You can buy in store, but they activate there. Order online and you can wait. You can also port your current Straight talk # to it, so free phone when you renew monthly subscription anyway. There's 2 models, Motorola Stylus 5g & Samsung A16 5g. I believe offer ends 01/29/26.
Are you SURE about that???

Same here, ordered on 1/6 as of today it's still stuck at waiting for remote fulfillment. Chat multiple times, asking for cancellation because chat agent stated there is no stock available. But they said oops no cancellation allowed after ordering.

Before people jump all over this question it has a point. Some people have reported having issues with the line if it's not used semi-regularly.

Also, will the unlock signal work overseas?

This is incorrect. 60 days of paid service is required for an unlock.
