Built in storage is low, but microSD makes it easy to expand.
This is the perfect size for me. 10 or 11 inch tabs are too heavy for me for comfortable use.
I also have a Lenovo duet 11" that I had first, and still like, but find myself using the tab one 8 inch much more.
So I recommend this tablet for what it is.
im not saying this lenovo is fast, but it is better than the amazon one - usable for a couple basic things at a time if you want to browse web pages or read news or something light.
Community Reviews
The Lenovo Tab One is a small 8.7 inch tablet best suited for basic browsing, streaming, reading, and kid use. The 4 GB of RAM is enough for light multitasking, casual couch use, and even simple extras like a Home Assistant dashboard or an extra monitor, and the included folio case and microSD expansion add value. The compact size is praised as easier to hold than 10 or 11 inch tablets, with the newer model described as a bit narrower and brighter than the older M9. The main concern is speed, since the 4 GB memory and eMMC storage are expected to feel slow for heavier apps, gaming, or daily all day use.
The tablet can handle casual couch browsing and e-reader use without noticeable issues for some workflows.
The tablet can be usable for a couple basic tasks at once, such as web pages and light apps.
The tablet can work as a household Wi-Fi device to help avoid draining main phone batteries.
The tablet can fit wall-mounted Home Assistant dashboard setups across multiple rooms.
The tablet can feel too slow for typical everyday usability, with some comparisons to faster budget tablets.
The tablet's 4GB RAM can struggle on Android even for light tasks, especially when switching apps frequently.
The tablet's eMMC storage can limit performance, since storage speed can affect overall responsiveness.
The tablet's brightness and one-hand handling can be limiting, based on prior Lenovo small-tab experience.

Do buy: media consumption device like YouTube and any streaming, web browsing, email, standard apps
Don't buy: tablet fanboy/spec whore(ignore these types of people in general)
The last one I got was $35 for a Motorola Motog Stylus with those above specs from Total Wireless.
Storage speed matters so much and affects phone performance a lot. Beware

Look, this is OK for a techy... but this is not OK for the regular Joe/Jane, why... CAUSE IT IS TOO SLOW.
As a tablet snoob, I would be freaking out every time I use it. But there are better options for about the same money... that is what I don't get.
4 GB of RAM will "never" become the norm...
Google raised the RAM requirements for Android 16, Google effectively raised the minimum RAM requirement to
6GB. So in a year or two from now, there will no longer be 4GB options. This is for any tablet that "starts" with Android 16.
And 8GB will become the norm... it seems like it is enough even though we are seeing 12GB and 16GB of RAM on some devices.
AND what people are saying about Samsung devices that got upgraded to Android 16... Samsung uses "RAM Plus" to allocate a portion of the tablet's internal storage as virtual memory. While this helps keep more apps open, it is significantly slower than physical RAM and can lead to the "laggy" performance reported by some users on Android 16
Pretty cool story... but you lost me when you said... haven't run into any sluggishness... HAVE YOU TURNED IT ON?

two things...

They say "ignorance is bliss" and I see why... You said a whole lot, but said nothing at the same time. Regardless of your nitpicking and trying to attack my comment, no lies were told in my previous statement.

Google made 6GB of RAM the mandatory minimum for the "full" Android 16 experience, devices with less memory must use the Go Edition framework. So all new devices that run full Android 16 from the start must have at least 6GB of RAM.
Show me one phone that started with Android 16 (FULL VERSION) that has 4GB of RAM. And the answer is... you can not.
Why Android 16 is on a 4GB RAM Device... Android 16 Go Edition (designed to run on 2 - 4GB of RAM, but not full Android 16)
While "full" Android 16 typically requires a minimum of 6GB of RAM for many flagship features, the Android 16 Go Edition was specifically released in late 2025 to support entry-level devices with 2GB to 4GB of RAM. This allows affordable smartphones like the Galaxy A07 to run the latest software efficiently without the hardware costs of premium models.
They say "ignorance is bliss" and I see why... quoting articles that seem to go against google's protocol regarding bare minimum RAM requirements for any phone that starts with full Android 16.... is pretty funny and is the reason why you are giving out wrong information... but what else is new.
So Again... 4GB of RAM will "never" become the norm... because GOOGLE minimum requirements for any android device that start with full Android must have at least 6GB OF RAM.
