It has several nooks and crannies. Standard hand wash won't do. Usually use high pressure heat wash. Dishwasher may break it. Get the Dash version of the mandolin (same price and better blade options) if you want to avoid blades or get a real metal mandoline for easier clean and longer lasting tool. Use the hand guard along with knife gloves.
