I'm kind of skeptical about it not having a cover for the camera control button, only just a simple cutout. Less than $5 for a case and two screen protectors is a decent price, but that part bugs me.

Even all of Apple's official cases for the 16 and 17 series have a capacitive cover for the camera control button. As do many leading 3rd party case manufacturers such as ESR.
At this point, cutouts are simply case makers cutting corners. This practice was acceptable during the 16 series being out, as the button was new that year. But now the 17 series is the second year it's been there, so there's absolutely no excuse for case makers to act like it's not there other than to save manufacturing costs or just being lazy about it, hoping the buyer just doesn't notice or care.
