Inferior China knock off with gaurenteed worse quality cuts , avoid at all costs . Buy Japanese or don't buy this type of saw , the China knockoffs are trash clones in this space

Been using these sub $10 Japanese saws for yard work. It works really well. My takeaways for these saws are: 1. these are pull saws not push saws. So pull to cut. I find it I had more control but for big rough cuts, a traditional western push saw may be more effortless. 2. there are two sides, one that had bigger teeth for bigger cuts and smaller teeth for more detailed jobs.
I usually use these for pruning larger branches as cuts is relatively smooth.
Single sided saws often have a rigid back. Double sided ones like this will be a little floppy. This allows you to cut as deep as you want since there's nothing to stop it from cutting deeper. Can also use the floppiness to get closer flush cuts since you can angle the handle down a little to make sure the saw stays against the work surface, eg for cutting off dowels. Less to sand when you're done.

Come to Slickdeals looking for a cheaper option, and avoiding made in China is kind of a contradiction. A Japanese hand saw, like Tajima's, is priced from $40 to $70.

All you had to do was a quick search to see you can get made in Japan handsaws for around $20 - and this one was $16 a month ago.
