Not ignorance, stupid product, who in the world seals their butter with water to keep it fresh? Doesn't last that long in my house to ever spoil from just sitting on the counter in a regular butter dish, most it lasts is a few days

Well, many Europeans have found this method to be useful for a very long time. Hardly a stupid product!

I thought the purpose of these was to keep it spreadable soft year round? Always wanted to try one.

Just for clarification, I have to smash my stick of butter in there and make sure it's level so it doesn't touch the water?

This is soooooo extra.

Agree. just leaving it in a dish on the counter at room temperature is totally fine. I don't get the purpose of a butter bell.
