Decent price, but not the best deal. For this price you can get the 850W Montech Century 2 (also rated A- on SPL tier list like this) at Amazon [amazon.com] or for $10 more upgrade to 850W GLS. The best deal was early last month when it was $50 after rebate and steam code but that seems unlikely to come back...

Recently bought this PSU and while it works, the fan in this thing is by far the noisiest in my system.

My fan never turns on? Are you sure you have the GLS version? It has an updated fan curve for silent operation.

Agreed that this psu for $50 last month was a great deal. I would wait to grab it closer to this price if possible.

I bought this PSU from the MSI store during the previous deal. The one I received was dead on arrival. Just be aware that MSI expects you to pay for the shipping of you have to RMA the product. Over $20 to ship back a defective product really cuts into the "deal".

Had the same problem was DOA and told myself I'll never support MSI again

You're totally right, was not aware that there was an S model. Wish I had got this one then!

I had to do this with a Zotac GPU as well. Adding MSi to the brands I'll never buy, but it makes me wonder what brands actually do send you a free shipping label. Probably not a lot.

Corsair is pretty good at doing free shipping both ways. Sucks to hear about MSI dropping the ball.

That's good to know. Back in the day I fried some RAM by spraying canned air on them while the PC was still on. I can't remember if it was Corsair or Crucial, but they replaced them really easily.
