The Creality SPARKX i7 Color Combo can currently be preordered for $334 using the coupon code i7Exclusive, which is listed on the Creality blog [creality.com]. That price includes one year of extended warranty and one year of Creality Cloud Premium and two spools of Hyper RFID filament are for free orders placed not after January 12 (PST), but this is marked as "subscribers only" which probably means users who are subscribed to their newsletter. Shipping is supposed to start at the end of January.

Based on the reviews that are available on YouTube already, the SPARKX i7 seems to be a beginner-focused 3D printer, easy to set up and minimal setup or tuning required.
Compared to the BambuLab A1 Combo, which is the most obvious competitor, the main practical difference is the filament system. The i7 uses the CFS Lite, which is enclosed and uses desiccant, so filament storage during printing should be better, also according to the specs it supports flexible filaments like TPU from the CFS Lite.

Specs:
  • Build volume: 10.2 x 10.2 x 10in (260 x 260 x 255mm)
  • Four color printing with CFS Lite (single unit, not expandable)
  • Enclosed filament storage with desiccant
  • Rated print speeds up to 500 mm/s
  • Automatic bed leveling and calibration before printing
  • Max nozzle temperature: 300°C
  • Heated bed up to 100°C
  • Dual sided textured PEI build plate
  • Built-in camera for basic failure detection
  • Wi-Fi and USB file transfer
  • AI-based detection for print issues and CubeMe AI photo-to-3D
  • RGB status light bar for print state indication

I think I won't preorder any 3D printer anymore. They are usually full of problems that manufacturers need to patch throughout next multiple months even years based on user feedback. I preordered Bambu P2S based on trust but out of box the printing quality was worse than my P1S.

That should be a pretty standard stance on most tech unless you get a steep discount.

Tried too many creality printers that I can remember. Been disappointed by almost all of them unfortunately. I wouldn't recommend a pre-order anyway, but not for a creality printer for sure.

I was thinking about getting it cause the price is right but says multicolor printing not supported even though it highlights less waste for multicolor printing?? Confused... confusing enough to make me want to keep my money

Looks like it the CFS mini that doesn't support multicolor, but the printer along with CFS lite does.

I bought a refurb K1S (actually 2 as the first was in farked condition) amazing when you root it and set up klipper; running a moonraker server on it that connects to orca natively. I think the issues I've had have all been my fault learning the settings. The more I learn the more I realize there are improvements that this printer could have, but seems very easy to modify too.

This looks like great competition to the Bambulabs a1, much bigger, and with the opensource nature I'd personally prefer this one; if you are new to 3d printing and want less hassle of setting things up then bambu.

That being said, I choose a 1 color printer because I knew there was a lot of waste with. multicolor prints, waiting till the printers with multiple hot ends or nozzles get to a reasonable price range before I switch to an AMS system

Everything you just said makes me NOT want to try a K1 lol. That's why Bambu gets so much love because you plug it in and it works. You don't need to do all these other complicated steps to get a decent product.

I have several Creality printers, it's why I recommend Bambu.

That's weird. My x1c prints better than my p1p. Now I'm having second thoughts about buying the p2s.

I own several Creality printers and a Bambu. At this point, how is Creality still in business? Their printers require so much mucking around to work vs Bambu's plug it in and it works 🤣

I played around with some hand me down Creality , all the information i hear is that all of them aren't compatible with each other and every line of machine seems like some from different companies lol.

Seems like they suppose to be an upgrade but it's a new designed machine.

The only thing I said is you can root it and it is open source, and I've made mistakes. Not sure how you got to that conclusion. Open source is significantly better

Bambu gets love because it is for the the incompetent crowd; I'm in the facebook groups and the most basic questions about 3d print problems usually have those Bambu printers in the pictures. The theory is you just print it and really don't understand what you are doing; but that is not what this hobby is about. If you don't think you can deal with some basic trouble shooting, you will inevitably hit a problem with a Bambu and your inability to problem solve will come back to get you.

There is literally no reason to buy this when the A1 exists.

Well besides the a1 being more expensive not multi-color and not supporting tpu I would agree entirely. With that being said I understand that Bambu is far more plug and play with less things to troubleshoot.
