The OMEN MAX stands out as a strong value on paper for an RTX 5070 Ti laptop around the $1100 mark, with desktop like RTX 4070 level performance and enough VRAM for 1440p gaming. The RAM and SSD are upgradeable, which helps offset the base 16GB and 512GB configuration, though 32GB and 1TB are the more comfortable targets for modern games. The main catch is deal reliability, since the coupon pricing has shifted, the accessory discount has been finicky, and multiple orders were later cancelled as a pricing mistake. A compelling spec sheet, but the final shipped price and availability matter most.

Common Questions (5)

  • The discount appears tied to adding an accessory, and some carts require logging out of EPP for the coupon to apply. If the listed adapter is out of stock, adding another cheap accessory can still trigger the pricing, but the coupon may stop working if you already used the accessory deal once.

  • HP has a history of canceling these orders as a pricing mistake, and cancellation emails have gone out even after some items shipped. The deal is only confirmed once the laptop actually ships.

  • Yes. The RAM and SSD are upgradeable, so the 16GB/512GB configuration can be expanded later if you want 32GB RAM or a larger drive.

  • 16GB is enough for many games, but modern open-world titles can use more than 16GB when available, including Hogwarts Legacy and The Last of Us. Upgrading to 32GB is a practical choice if you want more headroom.

  • At around $1100, the RTX 5070 Ti configuration is described as an incredible deal and roughly in the range of RTX 4070 desktop performance for 1440p gaming, with enough VRAM to help at that resolution.

HP is making a huge effort to become the number one laptop maker. I got mine on BF with 210 from PP, 180 from R, and 12 from my credit card. It cost 1288 with 402 back

They are going to need to improve their build quality, quality control, customer service, and warranty support if they want to get anywhere close to being number one.

I plan to buy a new laptop in 2027 summer, but given the SSD, RAM price today, maybe I should pull the trigger now?

Ram and SSD are upgradeable, so you can easily upgrade the SSD and RAM at a later date. The service manual is available at https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-p...n-US-1.pdf

Find another cheap accessory and add it to your cart. Or something like a gaming headset

If you already bought something with the 10% accessory deal it won't let you do it again.

I think the deal is dead, adding the accessory changes the price but the laptop is now starting at $2,100 with the same configs.
