Ikea LADDA 2450mAh - $11.99/4pack
This is taken from IKEA USA official website as of January 12th, 2026. The eneloop deal is better.
Community Reviews
Panasonic Eneloop AA batteries stand out for long life, reliable charge retention, and strong performance in high-drain gear like Yale locks, Roku remotes, Xbox controllers, and motion sensor lights. The standard 2100mAh cells are praised for lasting years, with some still working after a decade or more, and the made in Japan packaging adds confidence. The main cautions are price versus IKEA LADDA or other alternatives, and the need for a sensible charger because very fast charging can hurt longevity. The 2450mAh version can also be too thick for some devices, so this is a durable everyday pick if fit and charging speed are handled carefully.
Common Questions (5)
They're reported to be better long-term value because they can take about twice as many charges as IKEA LADDA and hold charge far better than Amazon-brand cells. Several comments also note that cheaper alternatives lose charge faster, fit worse in some devices, or develop rust/acid issues.
Slow charging is better for longevity because heat shortens NiMH battery life. A Panasonic 3-4 hour charger is described as managing heat well, while very fast chargers can overheat batteries and reduce lifespan; recommended charge rates are around 200mA for AAA and 300mA for AA.
The packaging shown on Amazon says they are made in Japan. Long-term reports include batteries still working after 10-15 years, with some sets from 2009, 2011, and 2017 still in use.
Yes, they work well in Xbox controllers and in Roku remotes that burn through batteries. One caveat is that the 4K Roku remote appears to have the heavier battery drain, while the regular Roku remote does not seem to have the same issue.
In Yale WiFi and touchpad locks, they can last about 4.5-5 months per charge, with one report of roughly a month less runtime than Energizer alkalines. They still provide a low-battery alert about two weeks before dying, which helps avoid lockouts and extra battery changes.

Edit: Yea, it's the AAA's that are usually $2 each.
Are you talking about high charging current makes it hotter? I think most NiMH chargers are CC (constant current), and some of the more advanced ones you can set the charging current.
I also use their charger [amazon.com]to recharge my Eneloops, and it's been goo as well
