More voltage runs hotter and lowers the longevity of the recharge limit.

Ikea LADDA 1900mAh - $9.99/4pack
Ikea LADDA 2450mAh - $11.99/4pack
This is taken from IKEA USA official website as of January 12th, 2026. The eneloop deal is better.

These are great. I use them in my Yale wifi lock, which are notorious for eating through batteries. I get about 4.5-5 months on a charge.

For those that need more power from their batteries, I have had good experience with Tenergy... Their Tenergy Premium PRO Rechargeable AA Batteries, High Capacity 2800mAh [amazon.com] are cheaper as well. They work well with controllers and remotes for RCs

I also use their charger [amazon.com]to recharge my Eneloops, and it's been goo as well
Good to know. Filing that away for that day I'm breaking my head trying to figure out the battery dilema .. again. Wink

So LADDA or Eneloop?
Whichever is cheaper.

I have the touch pad only Yale lock and I tried the AA Eneloops and they last like a month shorter (5 months) than the Energizer AA alkalines (6-7 months). I still get an alert to recharge my batts 2 weeks before they went totally dead. Saves me $$$!

Just get the eneloop and worry about other things. Amazon batteries are inferior to the batteries. I still have all my original batteries from 2017. My amazons don't hold charge as well, don't fit as well in some applications, and I have some with rust/acid issues. I've never had an eneloop battery with an acid problem... even when the cheap amz battery after being paired right next to each other powering a device. Buy & forget

I'm seeing $42.99 for the 12 pack, which is $3.58 per battery.

See attached.

I usually buy eneloop, but costco last year had a energizer deal with charger , 4 AA and 2 AAA for $10. I'd say it's as good but unsure about comparable longevity

Energizers are made in China now, not rebranded Eneloops like they used to be. Good luck.

Those are AAA's you're talking about from what I can tell. These are AA's. Back around Black Friday, I bought the AAA's for $1.84/battery and 6-packs of AA's for $2.73/battery. I know the AA's weren't on sale at the time, but not sure about the AAA's.

Doesn't seem like a deal. More expensive per battery than IKEA which afaik are similar to eneloop.
If you want to nerd out on the math - these end up being a significantly better value than IKEA even at normal prices. To start with the number of charges they can take is ~double.

What's a good charger for these? Does it matter?

This has been the price for months (been sitting in my save to later). Why is this a deal now?

The price has fluctuated wildly in the past 3 months.

Yeah, it did increase in December. Oct and Nov were pretty good though.

I've seen mixed data on this. I once had a rayovac one hour charger and that was a disaster as it was more of a battery cooker than recharger. They key seems to be how they manage heat. If the fast charger makes the battery too hot to touch, it seems pretty bad. I have a panasonic 3-4 hour charger and it seems to manage it pretty well. Like apple devices, it seems to slow the charge as the battery fills and doesn't cook it like old technology. I have both slow and fast chargers and mix it up a bit since 8-10 hours every charge is a long time.
