The contrast on this TV is rather bad, even among TV's without dimming zones. The brightness is adequate for watching in a lit room, but definitely not enough for HDR and nothing special. If you just want a big screen and don't care about the picture quality this TV is fine. Otherwise, the other TV Is worth double IMHO.
In terms of TVs, especially big TVs like this, Hisense/TCL are great brands nowadays.

Samsung & LG: These companies are based in South Korea. Their tracking is generally seen as a commercial play for "Ad-Tech" revenue. In fact, some manufacturers now make more profit from selling your data than they do from selling the actual TV hardware.
so you have two choices... go with Samsung and LG and you get hit with targeted adds or go with Hisense and TCL and know the Chinese Gov't knows what you watch.
