The contrast on this TV is rather bad, even among TV's without dimming zones. The brightness is adequate for watching in a lit room, but definitely not enough for HDR and nothing special. If you just want a big screen and don't care about the picture quality this TV is fine. Otherwise, the other TV Is worth double IMHO.
In terms of TVs, especially big TVs like this, Hisense/TCL are great brands nowadays.

My personal recommendation is an OLED. I now have a Samsung and LG, and prefer the LG. You can usually walk into a store and pick them out, especially if you're looking at an angle. Yes, they're more expensive but very much worth it IMHO.
