Excellent deal for 16gb of vram. Don't think it'll get better than this.

32 GB of RAM is nice to have in these times of uncertainty. I am not sure if it's worth getting this if you are planning to upgrade hmm.

Okay for the kids? Son has an xbox but daughter is aged up and wanting to play more games now. Ram prices are making gaming so inaccessible sadly. Would have been happy to do a second xbox but now with those prices and gamepass so high PC seems the better route.

Posted this a few hours ago on reddit. I actually reviewed this a few days ago (with a 4060 TI), in the video I also plopped in a 5070TI, which run perfectly.

Note: ZERO proprietary parts on these. Runs cool too with good airflow.

OMEN software allowed fan tuning in windows.

Could always keep the rest of the parts and upgrade to a 9800X3D or something

if it were a single stick of 16GB ddr5, that would be much easier to upgrade. I know it would run in single channel mode that way, however, upgrading ddr5 would be palatable if you only had to buy one more stick instead of replacing the 2 8gb sticks.

That's really nice that it's zero proprietary parts. What's the power supply? Does it have single or dual 6+2 pins?

Yeah it has support for two 8 pins. Used that to hook up my 5070 TI

600w, 80+ gold. More than enough for any AM5 CPU + up to a 5070TI

This will be great for kids. That 16gb 5060ti is going to run games at 1080p for 5+ years easily.

Is this an ideal gaming system? No. There's room for improvement and one could nitpick all day, but if you have only 850 bucks in your pocket and you need to buy immediately, I don't think you will do much better than this.

This is a 100% percent proprietary motherboard according to hp support and also will only accept the cpu it comes with.

The HP OMEN 35L uses a

proprietary HP Micro-ATX motherboard, often identified by codes like "HP 8906/8907/8917" or "HP 8CF4," featuring an AMD B650 chipset for AMD models or similar for Intel variants, but with custom pinouts and layouts, making standard ATX upgrades challenging due to reversed front panel headers and specific connector sizes, despite being physically a mATX form factor board?
Also the CPU usually cant be upgraded due to bios limitations set on hp model. It will only accept a 65watt CPU

This is actually a GREAT deal. Specs make it a budget jack of all trades for editing, gaming, local AI image generation and work related purposes.

I just bought the 5060ti last week from best buy, so far so good!
