There's always some clueless joker who goes off about $299 imports vs $3000+ USA models. 💩
There's always some lawyer who thinks that the $3000 guitar mounted on the wall means that they can play.

So hard for a lefty to catch a break on a 6-string electric. 😢

I've owned them all. I know what I've kept around. What about you?
Yes, you've made it clear that you'd rather drop prefer to drop $3000, or whatever, on a Maryland PRS. Knock yourself out.

But don't piss on the fact that Indonesian PRSes are solid git's.

Personally, I dislike the ergonomics of PRS guitars. And the birds are hideous. My choice leans towards Fenders.

I am a lawyer. It's not one $3k guitar. When you work hard, you get to have the good stuff, It's just how it is. I retired at 48, too. Lots of time for guitar is a good thing,
Living up to the stereotype, lol.

It's also funny that you presume that you have more money than me. Wealth is what you don't spend, and I would never buy a USA PRS for numerous reasons. Spend your money however you want, but don't piss on the quality of these instruments.

if I'm ponying up money for a real electric guitar it's gonna be a Squier, Epiphone, Fender or Gibson.

Also a lawyer and also privileged to own many USA made instruments, but I can't stand the cork-sniffing.

The import stuff these days is really, really good. Things aren't like they were when I started playing back in the early 2000s. You can buy a sub-$1000 guitar these days and have all the guitar you'll ever need.

When you buy a Core PRS guitar, you're paying for USA manufacturing, nicer materials, more consistent quality control, etc. But dimishing returns in terms of sound, playability, and build quality gets insane after about $1500.

If you just need a guitar that sounds good, looks good, and plays good, ain't nothing wrong with a PRS SE, Squier, Epiphone, or import Fender. I've played them all. Play what you like and can afford, don't let anyone make you feel bad about that.

I don't care about stereotypes. I don't presume a thing about your money. I do know a bit about your preferences in guitars. I don't think you've experienced the good stuff. And yes, they're not high-quality. They cost under $100 to produce. They're made to a very low standard by largely unskilled labor. Let's not pretend they're anything but what they are, which is imitations of real PRS guitars.
They are real PRS guitars. Contracted for manufacture by PRS. They have the PRS name right on the headstock. Paul seems to think they're good enough to bear his initials. You're not some truth-sayer, you're a guitar snob.
