This Eonon 10.1 inch Android head unit stands out for big-screen features and bundled extras like the reverse camera, dashcam, and OBD2 support. The included AHD camera is described as sharp and clear, and the screen resolution is reported as crisp. Fit is the main hurdle, since the unit sticks out rather than sitting flush and may need a dash kit or extra adapters depending on the car. Performance concerns also come up, with reports of slow, buggy behavior and occasional wireless CarPlay or GPS issues, making it a value-focused option with some installation and usability tradeoffs.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can fit a 2-DIN opening, but the 10.1" screen sticks out and overlaps the dash like a tablet mounted to the radio. It is not a flush, in-dash 7" style install, so it works best only if your dash can accommodate a protruding screen.

  • It can be slow and buggy, with some units showing wireless CarPlay or GPS issues, and the processor speed is not on par with higher-end Japanese units. At this price point it is a value play, but it may not match factory-level dependability or longevity.

  • Some vehicles need a specialized dash kit to adapt the opening, and additional parts such as an antenna adapter or steering wheel control adapter may also be required. A 2017 Honda Accord, for example, may need a Metra 99-7804 or Scosche HA1717B-style kit because of the factory screen above the radio opening.

  • The included AHD reverse camera can produce a sharp, clear image, and the 10.1" display is reported at 1280x800 resolution. That makes the backup view look crisp rather than washed out.

  • It may be quieter than a factory head unit, and the lack of listed wattage suggests modest built-in power. An external amplifier may be needed if you want stronger output and better sound.

oh man been looking for an android auto one of these with a physical volume knob FOREVER.

i know nothing about this stuff, but I see it gives me the dimensions. I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, do I just measure my current unit to see if it's the same size?

If it's two din it *most likely* fits. The obvious caveat is if your current stereo sits very deep into the dash but it has some leeway

You might want to get an Android head unit made for your car.

Otherwise, you are going to need a dash cowl, antenna adapter, and maybe a steering wheel control adapter.

Maybe something like this:

ah okay I realize i didn't share that i already have a AVH2300NEX double din stereo, that one says it's a 7" (7" W x 3-7/8" H x 6-1/2" D, fitting a Double DIN slot according to google)

this one says it's 10.1" i'm hoping that just means it fills the face more than being larger, I can't find the dimensions of this thing...

I'd hate to buy it if I couldn't use it but despite all my research I'm not fully confident this is gonna work

i do appreciate everyone's help, i'll keep digging hopefully it doesn't sell out before i figure it out!

Is this actually a good deal? I'm interested but don't keep up with car audio. Or is this actually all its worth and the company just inflates retail price?

Have you ever installed a car stereo yourself (as in bending support brackets or perforated support straps to custom fit)?

This stereo says it needs 100mm x 178mm hole in the dash.

This one is made for your car, and has the physical volume knob:
https://www.amazon.com/Hac-Beach-...B0FRMXC3J7
Could save you a lot of time and buying extra wiring adapters and brackets.

I know big screens are all the rage, but I think it looks hideous when they stick out and overlap the dash. It's getting harder and harder to find 7" ones, so I guess most people don't mind that.

I am very happy with the Eonon headunit I have in my Outlander Sport. 10.1 screen 1280x800 res, and the include AHD camera has very sharp and clear image. No issues with it.

I purchased a bunch of products from eonon from like 06-09 for a show car I built, and I never had an issue with them. If I was in the market, I wouldnt hesitate to purchase from them again.

These are very slow and buggy. Think of a 20 year old cell phone for processor speed. It will work, until it doesn't.

I don't care about looks as much as I care about sound quality, longevity and functionality. I've had about 50 stereos over the years, going back to my first CD stereo from Road Gear or something. JVC has never been an issue for me, I've had probably 12-15. Pioneer and Alpine have also had great quality. Even though Kenwood makes JVC, they were hit or miss, but I like my current one with that's double DIN with no touch screen and I've been using the USB port with a mini thumb drive, no issues for two years and hooked up to a 5 channel JL amplifier.

Buy what you want, but all the cheaper stereos have had issues over time, or garbage from the beginning. I won't do it again.

I worked for Sony and Clarion. These units fit a price bracket well. Heck, Pyle is still in business for a reason.I promise you the sound quality, dependability and longevity of these doesn't compare to Japanese design. Value wise they are impressive though. Just know they may work fine, may not. I have seen plenty of cases of both being true. That is gamble you take at this price point - just don't expect to get the best signal to noise ratio or processor speed.
