When I first got this watch I was not happy with the band. Lots of buttons and a new OS took some time to adjust to but I'm fine with it now. I replaced the stock band with a nylon band and it's been awesome. Like so many other reviewers, I thought the flashlight was kind of cool, but not particularly useful. Like those reviewers, I, too, surprisingly love the feature. Go figure.
I've put my galaxy watches in my closet and only wear the Garmin now. It is just as comfortable, albeit a bit bulkier and heavier, as the Galaxies. I forget that I have it on. I don't enjoy wearing it while sleeping, but I didn't like wearing the smaller/lighter Galaxies while sleeping either.

Tell any Apple watch owner who has had their watch for a while how long your Garmin lasts and watch the fury build up almost instantly in their face as they try to cope with the fact that their watch lasts maybe 12-14 hours without even doing any GPS recording while many Garmin watches can go weeks without a charge while actually being used many times to record GPS tracking on runs and bike rides. I have 3 different friends who have always been die-hard Apple fanboys that all switched to Garmin watches in the past 2 years when they saw how insanely long the battery life is on my Garmin watches and they all seem extremely satisfied with their decision the last I checked. The absurdly poor battery life of Apple cannot overcome the other features that may make it more daily-usable in some people's eyes.
Garmin has generally held true to their dedication to being a fitness-first product line with their watches, while sprinkling in some smart features and bling (LED screens, LTE, etc) in some of their latest watches. I personally think that a Garmin watch with a 1+ month battery, MIP display, sapphire glass, and titanium ring around the screen with a high waterproof rating is the perfect watch for what I need it to do as an athlete.

Garmin watches are all about activity tracking and specialized use cases - diving, golf, flying planes, and athletic tracking.
