seriously if an old phone was brand new, that would be OK. But you really think that these people actually inspect anything refurbished. It makes me crazy reading these descriptions because you know damn well the phone will be described as 85% correct and it will arrive and be 90% damage damaged. Unless you're buying refurbished from Apple, that is the only one I would ever even consider. Their stuff is almost as good as brand new.

I bought a 15 pro 256g, excellent condition from this seller and it was 85% battery, 2-years old and looked new.., sent it back.

I bought a 15 pro 256g, good condition from this seller and it was 100% battery, 2 months old and looked new.. kept it.

Point is... you might get a great deal if you're lucky, if not then send it back.

I wouldn't trust their 3rd party crappie battery. No way they would replace it with real Apple batteries.

Just bought an excellent condition and there was only two small scratches on the screen that need a good amount of attention to notice, only when the screen is off. Everything else was about near perfect condition.
I'd say they do inspect it. Only issue is you'll get the bare minimum battery health they guarantee most of the time.

My sister just bought a 15 Pro Max from this place in "excellent condition", it looked brand new. I would have hoped for better battery but it was at 90

The battery is always going to be hit or miss, you either get lucky or you don't. If the phone that they sourced is below 80%, they end up having to get the battery replaced before they resell it. It's why you'll see people getting lucky with 100% battery health on a 2 yr old phone. I was one of the lucky ones, brand-new battery with 0 cycle.

Would Woot grade A be a better option? I assume grade A = excellent, and they are around $50 more.

iOS nags if it's not a genuine battery, it's not that simply to hide it like it used to be. The workarounds aren't great, and Apple is constantly improving their detection. Makes little sense for a large seller to risk their business doing what you're suggesting. These eBay sellers are risking their business if eBay, Allstate (the warranty provider), or the customer ever finds out.

I would consider Woot grade A as just very good. That's been my experience, at least.

Seconded.. I had a battery replaced with a 2nd grade (I did it myself) before, and iOS would not even show the new battery life %
