Given FCC decision to end Verizon's 60 day unlock, this deal is a reliable way to get a new solid budget unlocked phone with 8Gb or RAM.

With RAM prices skyrocketing, who knows what the next gen 8Gb phones are going to cost.

I believe you can currently get this phone on Amazon for the same price.

FCC's decision:

The Moto G Power 5G 2024 stands out as a budget unlocked phone with unusually strong specs for the money, including 8GB of RAM, eSIM support, a 120Hz display, wireless charging, and a microSD card slot. It handles everyday work apps, travel, hotspot use, and general daily use well, and the battery and overall reliability draw praise. The main caveat is the screen, which can dim from the side and wash out in bright sun, and security updates are expected to end in March 2027. The Best Buy Visible bundle can drop the effective price to about $80 to $105, depending on taxes and whether the SIM refund clears.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. If the Visible SIM is refunded or the pickup expires, the phone can end up around $79.99 plus tax, with some orders showing about $85.67 total depending on local tax. The SIM refund is what creates the lower effective price.

  • Add the phone and the specific Visible SIM kit together, then the phone price drops by about $50. The qualifying SIM is the $26 or $33 Visible kit, while the $19 SIM does not trigger the discount.

  • It handles Trello, Slack, email, Zoom, quick document writing, hotspot use, and travel media playback well. It can also be cleaned up by removing bloatware to get closer to stock Android.

  • Yes, it supports eSIM as well as a physical SIM. One unlocked TracFone model also worked with a 1-day Nomad trial eSIM.

  • Security updates are expected to end in March 2027. That leaves roughly one more year of updates from the time of these comments.

Based on someone's experience I ordered phone to ship home and visible plan as pickup which I didn't pickup and got canceled yesterday. Yet to get the refund of $26. I tried to cancel earlier online but the system removed the bundle and requested me to pay $24 to cancel it. Will update if I get refund.
Same here. Pick up window expired yesterday, got the cancellation email this morning and I expect that to see the refund in a couple of days.
Online status shows "We canceled your order of this item on Jan 20, 2026 and we'll refund your method of payment."

Got the $26 refund for the Visible SIM today. So, final price for the phone is $79.99 + taxes. Nice deal.

Thanks. Please update after your pick up window expires.

As my friend's case, he had both shipped to home, then he tried to return SIM to store keeping the phone, the store rep couldn't process the refund of $26 SIM, instead their system showed a charge amount (original price of Moto $129 minus what he paid for the bundle) of around $25.
Order cancelled on Wednesday for no sim pickup. Refund just came today. Woo hoo!

$85.67 for the phone. SCORE!

Best buy refunded me for the SIM kit that I didn't pick up at the store. This makes the phone a sweeter deal at $80 plus tax.
