This 65 inch Hisense A6 is a budget 4K Fire TV that looks best as a cheap set for another room, especially if you plan to use an external streamer. Fire TV feels faster than Roku or webOS and Tizen to some, but the built in platform can slow down after updates, lock up, or leave the TV stuck on a black screen with only audio. Input switching can also become awkward if the Fire TV remote is missing. A few comments point to panel and reliability concerns, including dirty screen effect and a Hisense set that stopped booting in under two years. A basic TV with a separate stick seems like the safer setup.
Using an external Fire TV stick can provide more reliable performance than relying on the TV's built-in Fire OS.
Enabling HDMI-CEC on both the TV and the external stick can improve input and control behavior.
The TV can be used in basic mode while streaming through an external device for smoother day-to-day operation.
The Hisense A6 series can be a solid option for a cheaper TV in a secondary room.
Fire TV OS can become unusable, showing a black screen with audio and requiring repeated factory resets.
A Fire TV OS failure can prevent the TV from using its inputs, effectively bricking input control.
Fire TV performance can slow down after updates, making navigation painful and prompting reliance on a separate Fire Stick.
A Hisense 65-inch model can stop working in under two years by powering on but failing to boot.

FireTV, does not allow you to side load firefox. That is why I would never buy it. But a simple tv box would solve all your problems. I would get a $200 N95 or a $450 8745hs, both windows based. The more expensive one actually is powerful enough to play the newest windows pc games at low to mid settings.
If all you do is paid apps... then you will have no issues with firetv.
Another thing that bother's me about firetv is.... is a common setup for smart TVs and streaming devices (like the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K). While the hardware is capable of 64-bit processing, the Fire TV OS itself is built on a 32-bit version of Android... so all software installed needs to be 32bit software.
Android TV (Google) is not much better... still running 32bit OS BUT BUT BUT Google has officially announced that starting August 2026, all new apps and updates for Google TV and Android TV must include 64-bit compatibility. This shift is designed to prepare for a new generation of 64-bit-only Google TV hardware. So there is hope.
