This AOOSTAR mini PC stands out as a compact Ryzen 7 H255 system with Radeon 780M graphics, 32GB DDR5, a 1TB SSD, Oculink, and a metal case. The chip is effectively a Ryzen 7 8745H or 8845HS class part, so performance should be familiar rather than cutting edge, but it still handles light gaming well and has enough headroom for everyday use. The 5600MHz memory and current pricing look strong versus recent mini PC deals, especially with RAM and SSD costs climbing. The main caution is that the SSD may be a Crucial P310 QLC drive with modest endurance, and the model lacks an NPU.

Common Questions (5)

  • At the current pricing, it is being judged as strong value because similar 32GB/1TB Oculink mini PCs have recently cost more, and RAM/SSD prices have risen sharply. The deal has moved from about $489 to around $519-$539 with promo pricing, but it is still compared favorably with other current mini PC options.

  • Yes. The listed config includes 32GB DDR5, a 1TB SSD, and Oculink, and the RAM is reported as running at 5600MHz. The chassis is also metal, and the unit is positioned as a strong value versus earlier similar-spec AOOSTAR deals.

  • No. The Ryzen 7 H255 is a rebadged Ryzen 7 8745H/8845HS-class Hawk Point chip with 8 cores and 16 threads, so it delivers Zen 4-era performance rather than Zen 5. It still uses the Radeon 780M iGPU and is considered sufficient for gaming and general use.

  • No, this model does not have an NPU enabled. The practical tradeoff is that it still keeps the 780M iGPU and CPU performance, but AI acceleration features tied to an NPU are not present.

  • Units have been reported with a Crucial P310 SSD. It appears to be a QLC drive with about 220 TBW endurance, which is fine for light-to-moderate use but not ideal if you want a high-endurance storage drive.

You gotta e shitting me. 3 months ago, this would have been buried as a no go. All of these unreliable sellers are getting bold in charging premiums based on ram shortage that probably didn't even make it out of the factory yet.

Checks off alot of the boxes, and with the coupon, is actually cheaper than the same config in their gem12 max from six months ago. Remarkable given the rampocalypse

Intel based Ethernet
Four displays (many of the others have three)
Zen4
32g/1tb
Oculink

And it's a metal build, so it's got that beelink asthetic.

It doesn't have an NPU, but you won't miss it.

I would agree that the seller being lesser-known makes this a little iffy but think it helps to look at some previous deals from October to gauge value -

390+ tax for similar specs but slower ram which is seemingly a fairly big deal if you're using the iGPU, and limited availability / sold out quickly

450+ tax for similar specs but slower ram that was also FP

~450 for similar specs seemed to be considered a good to very good deal even before RAM prices went crazy, would assume barebones deals were better, but when I looked at what 2x16GB SODIMMs were going for on Ebay these days I thought this was worth the risk that comes with lesser-known sellers

Aoostar is not a no name company. Their egpu dock with both TB4 and Oculink is pretty famous.

I'm currently using the gem12 (ryzen 9 model) with their egpu dock v2 and it is working quite well. Very stable for now.

FYI:
AMD Ryzen 7 H255 8-Core Processor is essentially a rebadged Ryzen 8845HS processor.
Zen 4 performance, not Zen 5. Still probably good enough for single core gaming

Unfortunately, it is. I'm looking at the GMKtec K12 with the same specs and it is currently $649. I thought maybe RAM would be slower on this one. Nope, both 5600MHz.

I can't speak to this but Aoostar is highly regarded for their NAS offerings.

Actually it's a rebadge of the Ryzen 7 8745H. The 8845HS has a NPU, while this one here doesn't.

Have you looked at most video cards, DDR5/4, hard drives, or SSD's? It seems to be the overall economic climate.
