This AOOSTAR mini PC stands out as a compact Ryzen 7 H255 system with Radeon 780M graphics, 32GB DDR5, a 1TB SSD, Oculink, and a metal case. The chip is effectively a Ryzen 7 8745H or 8845HS class part, so performance should be familiar rather than cutting edge, but it still handles light gaming well and has enough headroom for everyday use. The 5600MHz memory and current pricing look strong versus recent mini PC deals, especially with RAM and SSD costs climbing. The main caution is that the SSD may be a Crucial P310 QLC drive with modest endurance, and the model lacks an NPU.

AOOSTAR is legit and I can vouch for this model. I own an AOOSTAR MACO and an ACEMAGIC W1 WARLORD. This was $450 in December and same with the ACEMAGIC W1. Both are impressive Machines however ACEMAGIC W1 uses higher end components like Crucial RAM! I was shocked to see it myself. I bought the AOOSTAR as well because it has Oculink and the ACEMAGIC W1 doesn't. These little PCs are Amazing. I can run CS 2 in 1080p high gettin 90 FPS. The AMD 780m is just as powerful as a 1050ti and obviously runs on a lower tdp and most likely will run most triple AAA games as AMD does provide driver support. IMHO mini PCs are the future of efficiency and the way to go especially with the Oculink option to add a more powerful GPU in the future. Great alternative for a PC given the current climate on component pricing (Especially the Artificially inflated RAM prices). Food for thought.

I ordered mine on Saturday and received it yesterday, got it hooked up today and confirmed RAM is 32GB running at 5600, I believe the SSD is a Crucial P310. The only other mini pc I have experience with is an MSI Cubi with an N100 that was much cheaper, this one looks and feels very solid for the price. Probably going to be too busy to do any extensive testing with it in the near future, but if I find time I'll provide some updates.

To put things in perspective of where prices were ... I got a firebat A5P refurbished that has a 8745hs... for $234, I purchased 32GB of RAM for $50 (facebook marketplace... just before RAM prices went up) and a 2TB gen 4 hynix P41 for $130. I kept the old hard drive as a back up drive (512GB) and I still need to sell the memory 8GB x 2 DDR5 5600 Samsung RAM (figure I will get $90). This system was purchased in early November for a total cost of $325. ($234 + 50 + 130 - 90)

The firebat does not have the faster ethernet or the Oculink... two things I will never use.

Yeah, the prices are like a different economy/country compared to before September.

Up to BF, you could get 7840hs/32/1tb/oculink for $398.

The biggest memory cost increases are arguably high capacity sodimms. If you want 96 gigs now, it's gonna run you $800. It was only $162 back in July...

But this particular machine, I maintain, is remarkably cheap given the current economic climate...it's literally the same price as last summer for the specs.

The Ryzen 7 H 255 is a chip from the Hawk Point family that is only available in China. The chip is identical to the older Ryzen 7 8745H and has 8 cores (16 threads thanks to SMT support) that run at up to 4.9 GHz, together with the still quite powerful Radeon 780M iGPU. An NPU for AI acceleration is not installed / activated.

The 32GB RAM + 1TB SSD option was out of stock but is now back in stock at a slightly higher price, you can now get it for 519 using promo code NEWORDER . I think it's definitely still worth considering at that price, especially if you get it with free shipping / no taxes like I did. I've had mine for about a week now, still haven't done any heavy testing but all the basic setup stuff I've done has gone fine.
If you do order now it might be worth confirming with chat that the included RAM is still 5600, would assume so but the product page is still a bit vague for my liking.

It would be interesting to know which SSD they are currently shipping with their systems. I haven't had great luck with any Mini PC vendor All have been QLC, even going back to the Beelink Ser7.

This system has gone from 440 to 520.

I'm currently using the gem12 (ryzen 9 model) with their egpu dock v2 and it is working quite well. Very stable for now.
Frankly, the way ram and ssd prices have shot up and continue to do so, this unit at essentially the price of 6 months ago is a deal. We all hate the inflated prices, but a deal is based on where the prices are today and where they will be in the foreseeable future, not what they used to be or what we think they should be. And every knowledgeable source I see is telling us the prices aren't coming back down soon, and could continue to rise.

Mine came with a Crucial P310 , which seems to be QLC and 220 TBW endurance, pretty low endurance rating but not really a concern for my intended use.

This is now 539 after the 10 dollar discount, for comparison sake the comparable Minisforum model I mentioned in OP has gone up from 660 to 680 during that time period. There may be better deals out there at this point, but I'm very happy with mine so far.
