I just use an alcohol wipe to clean the coating off and have had zero issues, I dont have to scratch anything

If there is any risk of getting fake ones from Amazon's mixed stock... you might want to buy from homedepot.com at $7.20. It's $0.21 more, but genuine:

The reason is the other ones (like Duracell) have a bitter coating so kids don't put them in their mouth. Panasonic ones don't have this.

Agreed, Duracells are PITA to scratch the bitter coating and align the exposed metal to the electrical contacts.

Hate to break it to you, but that'll only test the open circuit voltage of the battery. You need to test it with a load, however small that might be. I've had plenty of coin cell batteries that read a much higher voltage with a MM, but were actually dead with a proper tester, reading a much lower and often even ak unusable voltage.

beware, these ran out of juice very fast... not sure fake or bad batch from amazon... for AirTag I only buy Enegizer in BM store (target, Walmart)
