Bought one for 300ish over the holiday. Printed about 80 hours and the heater/thermistor died. In the middle of a warranty claim now. Seems like everyone who bought one over the holiday has this issue and replacing the heater thermistor with a replacement part is not what I want to do with my practically brand new printer and it is fairly involved- also part of the reason I paid for this printer.

When it works it's great but caveat emptor. Aliexpress isn't the easiest return I've attempted.

Same here. I ended up buying one off Amazon for $35 instead of waiting 2 weeks from flashforge. I'll have a spare now

Ditto. Been a great printer but my heating element went out at 50 hours. It took about a week to get one from warranty. I first thought it was the bus cable going to the extruder head assembly, the clip that comes with the printer had pinched it pretty badly, but they sent me the heater instead. They likely know it's an issue for their printers. Other than that I love the printer.

My kid has also been trying to fix it for a while; it may be that the unit has gone down. I would be thankful if you could share how to go about going through the warranty process.

Hey man! You can email flashforge and they're actually quite quick with a response. They'll ask you for proof of purchase, serial, and hours printed, then after you give them that they send you a part and it's bout 12 screws to swap out and it looks lame.

I get "extruder T0 not heating as expected" on mine. Had it for two weeks and its happened twice. Power cycling fixes the issue, and luckily the print picks up where it left off.

I am thinking of buying a 3D printer as a beginner and hobby. Do you guys suggest getting this despite the heater issue you guys are mentioning about?

I'm a beginner and have had a great experience with Bambu. An A1 with AMS combo is about 100 more than this last time it was on sale (and from the deal history, price seems to have steadily dropped as they launch new models).

For the users experiencing failures, Have the parts failed again after being replaced or have the issues been fully resolved?

I don't mind swapping some parts, but not if it needs to be done every 50-80 hours due to bad design \ cheap parts.

I have a Flashforge AD5M (single spool version) that's been trouble free for over a year now, and paid about what this costs (Amazon). I would upgrade to this one despite the heater issue if I needed multicolor prints.

I have 3 flashforge machines and their support is pretty responsive and good at giving you parts for warranty purposes. My ad5x doesn't get used as much as I thought I would use it. But it's been overall pretty flawless. My issue was a frayed extruder cable

Like @hunterbush1 said just email their online technology support under their contacts at the website. They were very helpful and ended up sending me extra parts, my goof, but now I have spares. My parts took about 10 business days.
For me the error would happen when the printer ramped up after the first layer and printing a material requiring more heat like PETG. E0007 was the error.
Check their wiki page, it's very helpful.
