So hard to discern the specs - does this have the multi-touch AND anti-glare displays? Seems to indicate it at one spot in the description. Not interested in either.

It is also an almost 6 year old CPU / mobo combo, at that point having free ram slots was more common in non-business class machines.

Not sure I'm following here, you said non-business class machines? Were you referring to the T14 or some other laptop? Just curious because it doesn't get much more business class in my book than the ThinkPad line from Lenovo.

I agree this WAS a business class model, 5-6 years ago. In the current age, a modern $300 laptop will not have removeable or free ram slots...not sure why people ask every....single....post..... Might as well ask if a new car can take leaded gas Wink

But as I alluded to before, units based on 2020 configurations might still enjoy those, while also sporting long obsoleted CPU's and slower ram. Minor pro + huge con. IMO at least.

All that being said, I'm not saying it isn't a solid deal for $280...just shouldn't be your yardstick for 2026 laptop offerings unless you want to buy a modern ThinkPad for $1000+ or only shop CPU's 5-6 gens old.

I mean, shop around, I basically got this laptop(on it right now) for<$140 on ebay.

As for the RAM slot, they did that on this laptop because the Iris Xe graphics really needs dual channel RAM. But dual channel costs a bit more. So, they left one soldered and one open so they could have a discount model. Nearly every other laptop that uses this CPU has dual channel. It may be soldered or it may be open, but they all had dual-channel. I remember seeing this weird quirk on the T14 when shopping around.

You are missing the point. I am discussing current model-consumer grade laptop's in 2026 with removeable RAM (single channel, dual channel, 575V 3 phase 50hz.....). That is a unicorn that basically doesn't exist....except when someone just happens to be selling a "new" 6 year old dethroned business class machine on eBay.

The "Is tHe rAm sOlDeReD" is a dead horse some people won't stop beating when pretending to shop for a $300 laptop. If they really wanted to upgrade the RAM, they'd have to up their budget by $700-$1000 or buy used....and they know that.

Like I said, "Might as well ask if a new car can take leaded gas." And yes, you can find those on eBay pretty cheap Wink

Not the "Grade A Excellent" condition they advertised. That sucks that it was a letdown. I'm waiting on another model from Newegg which should arrive today.

Looks like they still have this one. Will you try another?

Received my Gen 1 Ryzen yesterday. Condition was very good - looked almost new when I took it out - but I was able to tell it had actually been recoated/repainted, which surprised me. Not sure how I feel about that, as I don't know if it will scuff or wear the same as the original coating, especially once I open it up. Interestingly, they sprayed the chrome hinges (which is already flaking) and even partially coated the charging LED. Smilie

Otherwise seems to be working well, and at least by external appearances, you could mistake it for brand new.
