But as I alluded to before, units based on 2020 configurations might still enjoy those, while also sporting long obsoleted CPU's and slower ram. Minor pro + huge con. IMO at least.
All that being said, I'm not saying it isn't a solid deal for $280...just shouldn't be your yardstick for 2026 laptop offerings unless you want to buy a modern ThinkPad for $1000+ or only shop CPU's 5-6 gens old.

As for the RAM slot, they did that on this laptop because the Iris Xe graphics really needs dual channel RAM. But dual channel costs a bit more. So, they left one soldered and one open so they could have a discount model. Nearly every other laptop that uses this CPU has dual channel. It may be soldered or it may be open, but they all had dual-channel. I remember seeing this weird quirk on the T14 when shopping around.

The "Is tHe rAm sOlDeReD" is a dead horse some people won't stop beating when pretending to shop for a $300 laptop. If they really wanted to upgrade the RAM, they'd have to up their budget by $700-$1000 or buy used....and they know that.
Like I said, "Might as well ask if a new car can take leaded gas." And yes, you can find those on eBay pretty cheap
Looks like they still have this one. Will you try another?
Otherwise seems to be working well, and at least by external appearances, you could mistake it for brand new.
