How does this compare to the Greenmade bins at Costco in terms of quality?

From what I've seen/heard, the lids are VERY flimsy. Can't even support 5lb weights.

I am not sure these were meant to be stacked. 2 for $10 is a good deal for totes this size, however. It's important also to note that you can stack regular totes on top of the Costco ones but not vice versa. The Costco ones have a larger footprint and will not stack evenly on top of the HD ones.

If they aren't stackable would they fit the Costco bin rack ?

I have both HDX and Costco's. I bought quite a few HDX totes last BF. The lids are a little bit weaker than Greenmade ones (Costco's), but not as much as some people claimed. Compared to Menards', HDX's are definitely much sturdier. Unless you put a lot of really heavy things in them, I don't think the top tote's weight would break the cover of the bottom tote when stacked, The cheapest price for Costco's I've seen was $7 a piece when on sale. So I think for $5 this is a good deal for a storage solution.

Of course they are stackable, but just not with Costco's.

Yours aren't even the same totes that are in OP. This comparison isn't applicable here.

The ones in OP are the ones that have flip-top lids separated into two pieces.

Not true whatsoever. The weight of each tote is distributed around the outer lower perimeter. The lids support weight better there than directly down the middle obviously.

I put a tote on top of the other and put a 30lb kettlebell in it directly in the middle and checked after 15 min. It was just fine.
