"Not a Native 4K sensor. 2.5K sensor but upscales to 4K recording. There is a reason they do not say which Starvis 2 sensor they use, and customer support will not tell you as it is "proprietary" All the other camera companies that use Native 4K processors are happy to state which image sensor they use."
And apparently only records at 25fps.

Ideally it'd be easy to disassemble to at least look at the chips to see if they are marked with a legit model number. Not that chip labeling isn't faked, and at this price (or $40 as the one guy said) I'd think the sensors are not legit Sony IMX678. I hope to be able to verify one way or another whether these are fake, and return if I find that to be true. I'm leaning toward these not being legit STARVIS 2 sensors, just based on the lack of details on the manufacturer's site (LLMs claim they aren't published either), and price. Supposedly the genuine Sony sensors would be quite a large chunk of this price, not that I can find real wholesale pricing on them.
But yeah, I expect either lies for both sensors, the front sensor to be some generic and the rear to use a cheap STARVIS 2MP sensor (for them to claim the kit has a STARVIS 2), or the front is STARVIS (2) 8MP, and the rear some generic sensor. My plastic pry tools will be getting some use tomorrow.
In any case, I had a CPL on my main vehicle's old VIOFO to cut through windshield glare. That alone may be worth paying more for their dashcams, for that filter option. I'd still always use a Mobius second front cam with a zoom (12mm?) lens to better catch plates. A third camera with different exposure would also help to under-expose to catch plates at night. It's the same thing one needs to do for all surveillance situations if you want full details - wide angle for observation, detail cam for identification, and maybe a third blown-highlight camera for reflective plates. For the most part just observing is enough for claims, and we don't even need 1080p for that.

This Pelsee P1 Pro is a budget dual dash cam that stands out for its front video quality, easy installation, and feature set at around $50. The front camera is described as sharp with good night lighting, and the included pry bar, 64GB card, and build quality make setup straightforward. The rear 1080p camera has already helped capture a hit and run plate, though some note it is not as strong as 2K rear units. The main concerns are whether the STARVIS 2 claim is fully genuine, plus the split USB C rear connection and built in battery instead of a capacitor. A solid low cost option if you mainly want reliable front coverage.
The front camera delivers solid picture quality with very good night-time lighting for daily driving.
The included 64GB card and good screen brightness at night reduce setup friction for new installs.
The dashcam can provide backup power using a built-in lithium battery for basic operation and file closing.
Rear camera footage reportedly helped police obtain a license plate after a hit-and-run incident.
The rear camera connection can be inconvenient because it uses a split USB-C cable that complicates wiring.
The STARVIS 2 sensor claims may be questionable because some reviews allege non-native 4K upscaling and undisclosed sensor details.
The front video can show a reddish tint compared with other dash cameras.
The rear 1080p recording quality is reported as not good, with 2K suggested as a better target.

The only bad thing about this dashcam is the split USB-C to the rear cam. I would say if you have a nicer car, then just return this and get the Viofo A229 Plus, a bit pricey but it does come with both USB-C for front and rear without the split from the from camera. For my fun weekend car or a daily beater, I just use the cig lighter power source and be done with it. It also comes with an adaptor that will actually give you an extra USB-A, which is what any modern electronic uses anyways(a USB-C would be better but hey...at this price).
I'm using this for my fun weekend car, so no big deal. I would say any dashcam is better than none. Get a decent one(like this) for your daily and a better one for your nice luxury car. If you drive a nice luxury car as a daily, then just get the better one.
My guess is any accident that will actually cause both cars not being able to drive off, then a decent dashcam will do since it only has to prove who is at fault just from the video alone. Don't need license plate for that. A license plate is more important if its a hit and run.
I personally uses the Viofa A229 Plus with the hardwire kit to make it all nice without any wires dangling for my "nicer" cars, for my daily beater or weekend fun car...I just plug in the cig lighter power source and call it a day.
I wouldn't say this is total garbage but a decent one for this price for your regular daily car. A lot of people talk about 4k or Starvis 2, or license plate clarity or if its good at night but if it is for your daily drive to work, grocery, gym, kinda car, do you really need it all those features/hardware?
All in all, get a good one if you have a nice car(daily or not) but for a "regular" car that you drive to work and don't really care about the washing it or even some door dings....this is good enough.

The thing resolves noticeably less detail than my older VIOFO STARVIS 4k cam.
Would be an easier install if the former for those with a rear power source in their car.
