This seems so small to be extremely limited. In the use case pictured it'd probably be better just to wrap some plumbers tape around the connection.

There are good for outdoor string lights, i wouldn't want to tape them together since they need to come apart time to time. This solves the weatherproofing for the socket and also stress from wind.

Yeah I guess so. It'll take longer and more expensive to use this than plumbers tape. And it's not windy on the ground. Not like you'd want to use this box on the roof.
