Wow! We are sure getting lazy!
Some folks are just old or have debilitating issues and products like these are a godsend. Just personally I know several with arthritis and a friend who only has one arm that would likely appreciate it.

The biggest question is do you guys cook often actually find a difference between the freshly ground salt and pepper as oppose the granules you buy and use?
There is a huge difference especially with pepper. I have not had pre-ground pepper in my house for over 20 years. The pepper comes out pretty stale. As for the salt it is great to change the grain size for what you want to do.
I have had different brands of salt/pepper grinders and have gone through some of them as they do wear out over time. If you are trying to cover an entire brisket with pepper the electric grinder makes a huge difference.

With pepper, absolutely. As with any spice, pre ground is never as good as freshly ground.

Choosing black the code didn't work but switched to blue and it worked.

Would love one at that price, but code isn't working for me. I tried the colors mentioned plus a couple of others and it was a no go. Dead deal?

Neither blue or brown discount code worked. I'm glad too. My manuals work just fine and as nice and convenient as an electric would be, I need to relax my consumerism habit and pass on this one.

If you want freshly ground pepper or salt, I can think of one good reason to get one that will power grind it. Just think how dirty/germy a manual grinder is as you are grinding, grinding, grinding the potential dirt/germs that have accumulated on that grinder and then use your hands to eat your meal.

salt the difference is you can control the texture better. just buy bigger rock salt and adjust granule size from coarse to powder. if you're just dumping it in a recipe not going to matter - just use mortons
