Get one of these to mount Android Auto/Carplay devices: https://a.co/d/43lNtwq
They are more versatile to mount devices like that and almost all of them use a 17mm ball mount.

This isnt like an 11" tablet in 16:9, its very ultrawide format, so it isn't that tall. That being said some cars like mine have good places for something like this. I have a huge area in front of my display this can go in the "cubby" if you will of my 2014 Accord

Also many cars out there have a tacke don tablet style screen on top of the dash effectively, so not sure why it's outlawed to do this in some states. This is my wife's 2022 MDX for example:

Obviously if you're a short person, putting it on top of your dash obstructing your view in any way is pretty dumb. Taller folks like myself have no issues with stuff like that, I'm close to the roof of my car with my head personally.

Because many modern cars have HVAC/heated seats/etc controls that are only accessible in the factory touchscreen.

These types of devices allows you to keep your car stereo/screen unmodified and easily add in CP/AA using Bluetooth and lighter socket powered.

i tried this and there wasnt a good place to mount this. the sticky pad didnt help and the window cup was tacky

Great device for any older car, only if it could be secured properly in a position accessible by the driver, but not obstructing his view (That is even illegal in many states s.a. CA).
My suggestion is a secure arm in relation to the rear view mirror, without obstructing the mirror or the driver's view.

If it doesn't come with a mount to let it fit in a single or double din slot, what's the point of this thing? Sure, there are a few cars with radios moulded into the dash, but how many need an 11" tablet on the dash??
