I think he's just trying to make it clear these are the "budget" henckels. I have this that I got as a gift and their top of the line one I purchased myself years ago and there is a significant difference between quality of the blade and thickness. People tend to link weight of an item to quality and this line feels completely diff and "cheap" compared to the "heft" of their more expensive line.

Also of note, there is a non-interntional (classic) set for $60. Their Classic knives are probably a fair amount nicer and more durable than the international ones. Still a great price for a decent set versus a even lower price for their most introductory set (probably around the Farberware set quality).
