not sure 800w is enough for 5080? pretty sure 850w is recommended minimum
It'll do. I run mine on a 750W.

That said, with Nvidia RTX cards it's really beneficial to undervolt because you can pretty easily save yourself 80-140W+ of power consumption without sacrificing much (if any) performance. I've got my 5080 FE running about 220W max down from 360W stock and actually got a slight performance gain over stock clock/voltage. End result is a quieter, cooler-running card that'll last longer because it's not getting as hot.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I'd recommend upgrading the motherboard to this one:

MOTHERBOARD: MSI PRO B850-VC WIFI 7 AM5 ATX w/ Wi-Fi 7, 5GbT LAN, (4)PCIe x16, (3)M.2, (4)SATA CEC [-12]

It's only $9 more, but you add PCIe 5.0 versus PCIe 4.0 on the OPs board...

Thanks, though it looks like this can be upgraded from the generic psu to 1000W XPG Cybercore II for $60 which is A+ on SPL tier ratings...seems worth it?

Was able to get it down to under $1950 with edits to the build, you can also make a decently priced 9070xt build out of this system but the 5080 is probably the better deal right now. Link to a 5070ti but you MUST edit the spec to match the description of the post to reach the same price
Not really. A 9070 XT system is still approaching $2k when you look at memory MSRP. It's insane right now.

If that builds still works it's probably good for a lot of people. Anyone who does a lot of productivity as well as gaming could really benefit from this CPU. It excels at both. The 9950X costs $125 more than the 7800X3D. I would make sure the motherboard and cooler can handle that CPU. 🔥
