$40 a month for service is a lot if you're a low data user with plans less than $10 a month. The Walmart holiday deal was cheaper overall and unlocked in 2 months.

This deal is good for existing customers who want to upgrade and have access a line that they can port it. Order the phone with port under your account and don't activate it, just take your existing sim and put it into the new phone.

Cricket has cheaper plans than 40. They got a $10 plan if you don't use a lot of data.

are you 100 % sure you can just not activate it and put your old other carrier sim into the the phone and it will work ?

Yes this is a hack to get upgrades, just make sure you are using a cricket sim. Also if you order from your existing account, the 2 month service charges will be deposited as credits, effectively making the phone $49.99. The unactivated line will show in your account and cricket won't let you make any account changes for any existing lines. Call them and ask to remove that line when you need to make account changes.

Incorrect price in the title, When the title says 16e + 2 month service it is not for $50, it should be $170 in the title?

where do you see this? I was looking on the website and not finding anything, I rarely use the data mostly while driving to new location

Yup, the Walmart deal was awesome if you were able to get it. I think all, it was a little less than $300 w/ tax for me and hopefully it unlocks soon. This deal is not that bad too. $170 for the device and 2 months to start then I assume you can switch to the $30/month plan until it unlocks in 6 months, making it just $290+tax

In the US, the 16 E has no physical Sim slot. eSIM only.
