If youre asking what this is for then you likely don't need it but floor leveling and can act as a 3rd hand for framing and other support tool situations.

Anyone know what the max length is for the 4x4 post? Was really hoping the the user manual would provide better details about the type of wood that can be used and max length.

Edit: I found this company, that give specifics on their 4x4 screw jack: https://ellismanufacturing.com/pr...screw-jack

That page lists max recommended weights shore height, using Douglas Fir #1 4x4 dressed lumber. They suggest max 15K lbs for up to 4' shore height. Personally, I would not trust the "24700 lbs Max Load" claimed by the screw jack, especially since they don't readily provide more specific information on load capacities.
