There are no quarterly categories with the BB Visa card. I think you're talking about a different card.

I always do these. I rack up hundreds in rewards cert each year. I don't have any other cards that give decent CB on utilities so these are the best option.

That's an absurdly crappy promotion. That's a ridiculous amount of money to put on a credit card with low cashback considering I can't use a credit card to pay any of my monthly bills any more.

Got the spend $2000 by 2/28 and get a $100 reward cert. Did this last year twice and it was $1000 spent for $100 reward cert.

Seems they get larger as you use them.

Maybe that's why I get these really low spend / high rewards bonus offers? I had a spend $250 get $100 in rewards, and spend $80 get $40 in rewards offers between November & December of last year.

Unfortunately, the more you use your BB card, the crappier the offers they give you.
They only give the good offers to people who rarely use their BB card.

Ouch! If I can overlap with my quarterly category, I'll do the $2000 level, but not sure I'd even try a $4500 one. That's a severe opportunity cost for chasing $75 in BB bucks.

Most of their offers are targeted, not guaranteed, but I've been getting 5% quarterly categories consistently for at least 3-4 years now, good on up to $1500 in spend. They send an email within the first few days of a new quarter. There's a dashboard at BestBuy.com that may show offers too. Turn off ad-blockers when you're trying to check there or the Citi Retail site for offers, they can get blocked.

It's pretty much the only reason I consistently use the card. The categories vary, but the last couple of quarters they've given me a survey of what categories I'd like to see, I say 'Grocery' and they've been giving me that option the following quarter.

Combining the quarterly category with the other offers, it can become a ~7-10%+ back card, for BB rewards any way.
