TLDR: Follow the terms carefully and take plenty of screenshots. You might need to fight for the credit 30 days later.
A while back I did this deal and got the credit no problem but the last time I did it, I never got the credit. I tried to resolve it with customer service but they wanted screenshots of proof of the promo which I didn't have. Customer service said everything was good but I got a conflicting email to send in more info. I looked back at the terms and can only guess why I didn't get the credit 30 days later. Amazon doesn't seem to care to make this easy for people to get. It reminds me of the early days of doing rebates. I'll stick to the Chewy deals instead.

While you may very well have been screwed over.....in general.
Keep in mind, not ALL products qualify, just the ones at the link in OP, if while shopping you change a flavor or package size on the product page, that given size or flavor may not have the earn $30 credit notation. It's very easy to make that error, the best screenshot to take is on the checkout page, there's an actually banner that says you've qualified to earn the $30 credit, that's the one you want, full page. If you DO NOT see that do not purchase the order and review the items in your cart to be sure they ALL have the earn $30 credit in respective product pages.
The problem I had with one of these deals was that Amazon split up the order after I placed it, I guess to ship from different warehouses with different delivery dates, and each order was too small to qualify. I did get the credit after contacting them. So yeah, take screenshots.
The price of these has gone up lately; it's cheaper to feed the strays tuna.
