I'm still debating over this TV. I want a mini-led and only need 120hz 1440p for gaming. But I loathe GoogleTV. I returned a Hisense U65QF because of HDMI issues and constantly changing the brightness of it (too bright at night). What to do.

I bought three of these and think they are spectacular for the money; I picked the 55" for $300 and two 50"s for $280 or so. They blow my 5 yr old cheap TVs out of the water, and I honestly find them too bright (it's a little brighter than the QM6K.) Colors and black levels look great. I'm debating on picking the 85" QM5K, assuming it drops back down to $800 soon, but want to see what the 98" QM6K pricing drops down too.

How's the audio with these ones? I'm in a tight space and don't want to use a sound bar but the last one I got had a broken screen and the audio was atrocious. Wondering if my unit was just banged around and had a broken speaker or something. It sounded extremely boxy with now low end at all

It's pretty loud. I have the 55" mounted on the wall in my bedroom and dont turn the volume up above 13 or so (out of 100.) At 13, my better half complains that its too loud.

The brightness is kind of the same way. The higher end TCLs (QM7K/8K/9K) are considerably brighter than this TV. On my QM5Ks, I have the brightness turned down to like 40% (these TVs are like 2-3x brighter than the 5 yr old cheap edge-lit TVs they replaced.) On certain content, it causes my eyes to wince so I'm not sure how folks deal with an even brighter tv. I'm sure it makes HDR content better, but IMO, it looks great on my QM5K (but I'm not super enthusiast.)
