Supposedly does 1,170 ft-lbs. Breakaway, 700 ft.-lbs. Fastening, so, probably.

The HP batteries go for $99 usually. So $60 for the tool, and it has the auto setting, which the older/lower end models don't have. But it is big, and heavy (5.13 lb without battery), because it has to handle all that torque. If you're not used to using a heavy duty impact wrench, this is what tire guys use that can hurt your wrists if you don't brace and hold well and just pull the trigger. If you want an impact wrench, and you're part of the ryobi family already, hard to go wrong here.

With this kind of torque, it'll probably rip them out too if you do it the wrong way.

I have been looking for something like this to do car lug nuts, brakes, suspension etc. Concerned this might be too strong. Price seems good though

Yes. I have been using this for almost 2 years(paid $159 with 1 battery). Its kinda overkill for regular users. Its big and heavy. I recommend getting small or mid size ones(p262 or compact).

Can an impact wrench be "too strong"? It's got 4 torque settings and a variable trigger, so it'll break stuff but you'd have to try.

On the other hand, it's big and bulky. I have this tool and am actively looking to pick up a compact mid-torque because 99% of the time that's all I would need.

This wrench is also discounted on Ryobi's own site, which makes me wonder if a new version is in the works...

Anything with a sensitive torque value you should be checking with a torque wrench.

I promise you will never wish you had a LESS powerful impact wrench.

Thanks! I almost ordered the Tool on battery deal for $149 (was on clearance for $138 but none near me). Overkill for my DIY needs, but I only have very occasional need so hopefully the extra heft won't be annoying.

Note to self: Resist the urge. Stop buying tools. You don't need any more tools. You haven't even unboxed most of your last 20 purchases. The garage has no room left.

Self: In for one

This model is not discontinued. I was able to pick it on the Ryobi website, and see it in my cart at Home Depot. This is the best deal yet for this impact. The prior best was $159 for tool and battery.
