Ryobi's 18V Whisper Series 7.5 inch fan kit stands out as a portable, versatile fan that moves plenty of air and can run on any 18V ONE Plus battery or an extension cord. The compact size makes it handy for carrying along, using on the floor to blow upward, or cutting hallway noise. The fan itself has a solid durability track record, and the kit price has matched a real $60 purchase with charger and 2.0 Ah battery. The main drawback is value, since the charger and battery add limited extra appeal and the fan alone can sometimes be found cheaper.

The fan can run on any 18V ONE+ Ryobi battery or an extension cord, which adds flexible power options.
notaek
The fan keeps working well even after heavy abuse over a few years of ownership.
maj429
The fan moves air effectively and can be powered using 4Ah HP Ryobi batteries.
ownage999932
The short power cord helps the fan deliver airflow for cruising and can reduce hallway noise.
phlydude

The kit pricing can feel confusing because the listing may show a higher total and the $60 figure may appear to exclude the battery.
Deadwing
The deal price may be hard to justify because the charger and 2Ah battery are viewed as less valuable, and the fan alone can show up for much less.
BoastfulSnake4723
The product is not a mister fan, so it will not perform like a mister in humid conditions.

Common Questions (5)

It moves a noticeable amount of air and is described as strong enough for floor placement blowing upward. It has been used successfully in places like bowling alleys and even to help mask hallway noise.
ownage999932 phlydude jeff2329
Yes. It can run on any 18V ONE+ Ryobi battery or an extension cord, so you can use it cordless or plugged in. That hybrid setup is useful when you want portability but also want to avoid draining batteries during longer use.
notaek Beniskickbutt
The kit can include the fan, a 2.0 Ah battery, and a charger at about $60. A buyer confirmed paying $60 with charger and battery in November 2024, which matches the bundle pricing shown in the thread.
AnciusD Deadwing
Yes. It works with any 18V ONE+ Ryobi battery, and one setup mentioned using 4Ah HP batteries. That makes it easy to swap in larger batteries if you want longer runtime.
notaek ownage999932
No, this is not a mister fan. Mister fans work best in dry climates and poorly in humid ones, but this model is just a fan, so it does not rely on evaporation for cooling.

How do you abuse a fan?

Use it outdoors and leave it there for about a year. Have your kids put Styrofoam in the blades while it's running so you have to take the fan apart to pull out the obstructions. Use it outside in the rain while plugged in using its hybrid function. Drop it off the first story roof. And a few other things I probably don't remember but it still runs like a top.

This price seems bad. The charger and 2ah battery aren't that valuable and the fan alone you can get on DTO for high 20s low 30s from time to time

It says $65. The $60 price is for a fan with no battery. Am I missing something?
