These are better than the Pelican shockproof holders and some other waterproof ones I've used. I just don't like that it advertises itself as a "tag" holder because otherwise it would just look like some sort of cap.

I had a tag on a trailer in one of these types of holders. Hidden and speaker removed. They took the trailer and left the air tag, still in the holder, laying on the ground. They pried it off. Cops said thieves are wise to these and scan for them.

Bought the one that locks to stick on my FIL's phone because he's got Dementia and is constantly fiddling with stuff he shouldn't. He also often turns his phone off and then loses it. When the phone is off the "Find My" app is rendered useless as the phone won't beep when you're trying to lose it. This AirTag mount has saved us a ton of money because we were able to find his phone and not have to buy him a new used one as a replacement. He's had it for about 6 months and so far so good.

They have a different style that requires their tool to open so someone can't just unscrew it and take the AirTag out. It's a little more expensive but not too bad. I got them for my skis. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF7NJ...V9kZXRhaWw

Hah, in a similar vein,
I recently saw an old asian lady who clearly had dementia walking around with her children.
She was wearing a necklace that at first glance just looked like standard cheapish jewelry, but then I realized it had an air tag in it!
Her kids were lojacking her!

Bought one of these to stick in an inconspicuous spot on my 4runner for tracking purposes. Obviously GPS based tracking devices are better, but it gives me some leeway if something were to happen. Also, it's just handy to use and find your car if you forgot where you parked😂

Make sure to remove the speaker so the thieves can't find it. Unless it is already in place where the sound doesn't get out.

I found my stolen motorcycle because I used one of these and an AirTag in the battery compartment (allowed me to stick it behind some wiring completely out of sight) and use them on my snowboards. Like others said, expensive but a really good product.

These things scream there's an AirTag inside easy to spot. Slim silicone holder and insert inside a panel or such. I inserted an AirTag in my kids wheel peg and threadlocked it to the bicycle totally hidden.

Doesn't an iPhone notify you when you have an airbag near you that isn't yours?

I think he's talking about notifications on your screen.

You need to put it in an area that is pretty busy and difficult to get to. In a motorcycle for example you to go n somewhere around the engine behind the fuse box or battery. This way when they scan it they know the area but they have to look all around to see it and then spend more time taking stuff apart to get it. That would be difficult to do on a trailer though.

Genuine question, is something like this really more useful than a 3d printed enclosure paired with some 3m? Does the ruggedness really make it that much more useful?
