I got these over the holidays in white. The noise cancellation is fantastic and the sound is great but the clamping force on your head is harsh. I've been putting the headphones on the outside of my case to try and lessen the force a bit. Not as comfortable as XM4.

I found it odd too, but it's probably just an easy way for them to make money (especially with it auto-selected). My credit card company should cover me if it arrives damaged and Adorama won't exchange it for whatever reason.

ANC is marginally better than AirPod pro 3. Mostly the low end. Sound quality is somewhat better, mostly more oomph in bass etc.

~$10 Package Protection? Kinda scares me that there needs to be an option like that...

It's odd for sure. Standard UCC terms for retail are such that the vendor is responsible for the package up through delivery. I don't see anything on Adorama's site / purchase terms that suggest they try to shift responsibility to the customer once it leave their warehouse (which would be FOB shipping in commercial terms). This would seem to render most of the package protection irrelevant outside of theft from your porch.

Great price. I bought refurbs from ebay that were like new but I found these really uncomfortable. The top didn't have enough cushion for me and the ANC gave me an instant headache and I usually never suffer from them so maybe the white noise was too strong for me.

But they are extremely light.

Better deal than the $318 Ebay one last month, although that one also had an additional 20% ($70ish) cash back if you used the Paypal pay later offer.

IMO These are in no way worth their full price -- they feel cheap, look ugly, are less comfortable than the old XM4 design (and way less comfortable than my Bowers PX8), and the NR is not that much better than my old XM4s (but YMMV on that one depending where you use them). Time will tell how they hold up physically, but Sony does not have a great track record on that front. I would not have paid more than the $250 I ended up getting them for, and $300 should IMO be the base price but I guess ultimately the market and tariffs set the price!

I noticed trade-in credit for MX6 on sony website. Do we have to buy from sony.com to get the credit or will any purchase work?

Best headphones I've ever owned. Perfect if you fly very often + combine with a portable bluetooth dongle for seatback entertainment. I can't hear engine noise, a crying baby, etc. Again, if you fly very often then these are about the best thing you can have.
