A ban is highly unlikely because it's so two months ago from an administration with the attention span of a ferret. It's just a distraction, more useless bluster to sow confusion from the same uneducated people who believe a 1,000% tariff is a sane thing to propose.

This is the regular price of the 653. All you're getting here is a free DC power adapter.

no concern with tp link issues and the upcoming probable ban? buyer beware
No concern. The Omada family, Small/Medium Business-class devices like this and TP-Link USA is distinctly different than the home-class that contains suspect tech. For example, when I go to my cloud-based Omada management portal that I've opted into for remote management, it has a US-based URL for the portal, rather than something sketchy in APAC.
I love these because it allows me to separate the wireless, switching, and routing devices on my network and monitor/config each appropriately. They work well vs the boxes that look like a dead insect.

I just decided to upgrade my home network from freshtomato Netgear stuff to Omada. Bought the wifi router, controller, 2 AP's and 2 switches (I run a home-based business and am tired of the poor wifi). Can I ask why you opted for the cloud controller vs the software controller? I decided on the HW controller because I just don't do cloud-based services. Also didn't want to run the SW controller on my NAS.

I think I read they are identical. TC power may be region dependent

Transmit Power & Coverage: Some reports indicate that the EAP653 may have slightly lower maximum transmit power compared to the EAP650 in certain regions (e.g., 22 dBm vs 25 dBm on 2.4 GHz).

Did you just provide your opinion on this hardware, then ask a question, and answer your own question... All in the same post?

Did you forget to switch accounts mid-post?

Good luck today in the football game Seahawks!
And now to keep this a bit on-topic: This seems like a good price for the EAP650, and I do like that it includes multiple options for management. The reviews on Amazon look good.

Same price now at B&H Photo Video. For those that are trying to diversify their purchasing to places other than Amazon/Walmart.

What poster? Literally nobody asked why you switched to the Omada controller. The only person asking about your hardware controller is you... in your original comment. Your whole post is super fishy, that's why I'm questioning it. And the fact that you're dismissive about it makes me question it even more.

There's enough dead internet on reddit, I don't need to see it on Slickdeals too.

That being said... genuine question, why ARE you running the dedicated controller? What's wrong with running it in a container? I'm running my controller in an LXC (courtesy of Proxmox Helper Scripts [github.io]) and it's managing three APs (1x EAP670, 2x EAP655-Wall) with zero issues.
