Did you try reading these yourself before posting?
The first link mentions the poster's update after two years of purchase, and then 3 years, confirming that the hinges have held up perfectly.
The second link, the hinges messed up after someone knocked the laptop down. Even then the hinges didn't break, but only got messed up.
In none of the links did the hinges snap or fail by themselves. This problem was mainly prevalent in their 3 year old Ideapad Flex lineup. No ThinkPad Yoga's had any hinge problems, if they did, it must have been hardly few.

I have this exact model, and absolutely everything works 100%. Webcam, audio, mic, stylus, fingerprint, tablet orientation.
I tried it with Ubuntu and CachyOS, and everything works 100% out of the box, no tinkering needed.
Fantastic laptop if you want to run Linux on it.

How do these yoga thinkpads do with Linux compatibility compared to the more traditional thinkpad models?

FYI, Lenovo Yoga hinge issues seem to be more prevalent than with other manufacturer 2-in-1s. I've read countless posts of people complaining about broken hinges after warranty ends. Here are just a couple:

Yes, I did read them. I have just seen too many posts like those and the following complaining about Lenovo hinges, and it's not like I go out of my way to find them. I just wanted to mention it in case others cared. Maybe the ThinkPads hinges are more sturdy, but I don't know if I trust that without concrete data (which Lenovo hasn't made available).

Can anyone confirm that this is actually the 400 nit screen on this unit? Is there a version with a 300 nit screen?

I've mentioned in specs that it's 400-nits that means it is so. This model comes with two types of displays, a 1200p one and the other 1600p. All 1200p are 400-nits and the latter is 500-nits.

Links are for two different spec'd laptops...
  • one is for 1165g7
  • one is for 1185g7
  • Both are similar in performance.
  • Both have Thunderbolt 4 for eGPUs and other peripherals.
  • RAM is soldered

Released in 2021. Specs seem fine but starting off with a five-year-old computer doesn't seem smart to me.

I have a Lenovo yoga 7i and have had issues with broken hinges (which costed a small fortune to get replaced). The lid design is poor and you feel nervous when opening the laptop.

Neither does being poor. It's a $400 laptop for a specific audience.
