I'm rocking a gen 2 Thinkpad X1 yoga myself, and it's been solid since the time I bought it used off of eBay in 2016. There's a big difference in build quality between a yoga and a Thinkpad yoga, or at least there used to be, so be careful to pay attention when people leave their feedback. All are Lenovo but there's a big difference in reliability, or at least there used to be. Windows 11 has meant that my 2016 Thinkpad will probably be my last windows laptop.

FYI, Lenovo Yoga hinge issues seem to be more prevalent than with other manufacturer 2-in-1s. I've read countless posts of people complaining about broken hinges after warranty ends. Here are just a couple:https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/c...th_lenovo/https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad...1_yoga_g6/
Mine got hinge and screen issue after two years. I rarely use it as a tablet.
The customer support expert advised not to close the lid after finishing my work at home and try to put it open on the table to reduce the amount of closing and opening the lid. Lol

He mentioned this issue is very common with Yoga 2in1 laptops

Released in 2021. Specs seem fine but starting off with a five-year-old computer doesn't seem smart to me.
agree, I would argue an open box snapdragon laptop is a better choice for most people, or wait for the new Intel Panther Lake, both -> +battery +performance across CPU and GPU +faster RAM

It's not just reddit. I've come across tons of complaints on Lenovo forums too. Like I said, it's not like I go looking for them, but I have personal & work Lenovo Yoga & Thinkpad devices and often come across these types of posts when I'm researching other stuff for my devices. Also, this is not an slam or attack on Dr.W's post, or to diminish his contributions to this site. I find his deals immensely valuable and have purchased a few of them myself, I just wanted to raise awareness to a pattern that I happened to notice regarding Lenovo hinges. There's no need to take my posts personally or attack me for sharing them. I'm not a shill for this site, and if I can share my knowledge that might help even one person, then I will not keep my mouth shut. $400 might not be anything to you, but it is to many who come to this site to save money.

I have this exact model, and absolutely everything works 100%. Webcam, audio, mic, stylus, fingerprint, tablet orientation.
I tried it with Ubuntu and CachyOS, and everything works 100% out of the box, no tinkering needed.
Fantastic laptop if you want to run Linux on it.

I have a Yoga X1 gen 4. I got it factory refurbished in 2021 for $800.. It is still running 100% and it is my main computer. This is a solid deal if you do not do anything that is graphics intensive..

Please list the deals for either of those at this price or even under $500.

These links are useless. None of these links mention the ThinkPad lineup to suffer from failed hinges. And might I point out that you certainly are not sharing your knowledge because you don't have any on this particular matter; you have shared links that do not apply to this model at all. You mentioned "Maybe the ThinkPads hinges are more sturdy", shows you lack knowledge because ThinkPads are indeed built like tanks and are militrary-grade sturdy, also the X-series is one of the premium ThinkPad lineups.
As mentioned, it was the budget IdeaPad and Yoga series that suffered from it, and to paint every other model of Lenovo with the same brush is illogical and making someone "save" $400 by sharing wrong knowledge is certainly unhelpful.

These always entrigue me. But I can't get over how confusing Lenovo makes so many different models with different generations. It's a very confusing model lineup. And with each new model there's a new complicated model generation to go with it. I was looking at a few of the 2 in 1 convertible options but I was surprised by how expensive the batteries are for these things. Sheesh. Ended up going with a dell latitude 2 in 1 instead just because it was cheaper and had more parts availability

I have a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 16GB with the same generation CPU. Use it mostly for web surfing and Excel. Still doing fine. Wouldn't spent $400 for a "vintage laptop" like this though. I just bought a current gen regular Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1 OLED with a Ryzen AI CPU as open box excellent from BestBuy for a little more.
