I held on to my old blu ray release and have no intention of upgrading to this mess. If you look around online the screen caps show how obviously lazy the work was. Loads of missing detail, and garbled text.

As everyone has been mentioning, these are infamously AI upscaled.

You might wonder why that's a bad thing. A big part of Wallace and Gromit's charm comes from the claymation process. Clay naturally has noticeable texture and imperfections, things like little fingerprints from the molding process. To make this 4k, they just lazily upscaled it using AI, making everything look unnaturally smooth and generic.

Personally, I'm holding off because of this. The non-collectors edition constantly goes on sale as well for much lower, and I'm hoping that these studios get the message that we don't want these lazy AI transfers.
