Tried them last time. Not a very good product, actually. I'd get a different brand.

What does that mean? How do you mess up olives?

Rule #1....There's better and worse quality when it comes to everything in this industry (including olives). These actually aren't that great (I've tried them).

I'm not a big fan of black olives to begin with (as they're bland tasting in general), but I found these to be the most bland I've tasted and slightly bitter as well. If you want a more budget friendly option, try the Target brand ("Market Pantry"). Those were better than these (at least in my opinion).
There's also the potential for batch problems with these. Perhaps the can that I had was from a bad batch?
That "can" occur with all brands of olives.

The olives can be mushy, they can have bits of the pits left, and a 6 ounce can is tiny. The olives can be broken up, or just too salty. Yeah, you can mess em up.

DT and ALDI have them in glass bottles. Better in glass than in tin? How about those found in Home Goods store? Are they good for adding to green smoothie for nutritional value (than taste or as a salad)?

Holy sht, people are high maintenance! For this price, it's a no-brainer. I usually get Bella brand for $1.29 and they're just fine. I've gotten Mario when there's a coupon or sale cheaper than the standard Bella price at my store and they've always been good. Yeah, there may be some inconsistency from olive to olive, but it's an agricultural product and that's to be expected.

If you're putting these out for a veggie tray or fancy olive platter, then maybe it's not the best, but if you are using these in recipes (I use a can every couple weeks for pizza), then they're just fine.

Love the price but I jumped last time on sale and am still eating through the 'meh'. Unimpressive, mushy, flavorless, not 'olivey'. Never again Mario.

I'd say YES. Glass just wears off better on me...lol

Thank you to those saying these are very good. Black olives are definitely a hit or miss regarding brand. I completely disagree with those saying you can get a good or bad batch within a certain brand, maybe an olive that is soft or broken up but the taste is pretty consistent. I bought a ton when the Amazon brand went on sale and to me they were pretty good. Aldi brand was just plain bad and again, consistently bad. Also keep in mind that a 6oz can is the same as a tomato paste can so the price is not very good.
